A car crash in North Macon on Friday, August 23, 2024, resulted in the death of a passenger and left the driver hospitalized, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred when the driver of a Honda Civic lost control, veering off the road and striking several trees and a fence near Rivoli Ridge Drive. Emergency services were alerted by a 911 call shortly before 10 p.m. Both the driver and the passenger were transported to Atrium Navicent Health hospital, where the driver was reported to be in stable condition. The passenger, a 31-year-old man, did not survive. His family has been informed, as confirmed by the Chief Deputy Coroner.
